"Discover Bilton's rich history and scenic paths, from ancient stone crosses to Shakespearean streets."
 ABOUT THE WALK
Join Our Bilton Heritage Walk – Explore History and Nature!
Come and discover the charm of Bilton on this picturesque and historic walk! Starting at the beautiful St. Mark’s Church, a Grade II listed gem dating back to the 14th century, we’ll stroll through the quaint village streets and along Lime Tree Avenue. From there, we’ll loop through the fields near Cawston Woods, offering a peaceful countryside experience (just watch out for a few rabbit holes!).
As we head back into the village, we’ll pass through the roads of Bilton, taking in fascinating historical landmarks. Learn about Bilton’s rich heritage, from the ancient stone cross on the village green to Bilton Hall, a 17th-century mansion once home to writer Joseph Addison. Plus, hear a few fun facts, like how pop star Billy J Kramer was married at St. Mark’s in 1968.
This walk is the perfect opportunity to enjoy fresh air, meet new people, and explore the stories that make Bilton such a unique place. Everyone is welcome—bring friends, family, or come solo and meet fellow walkers along the way! (w)
